100% Habotai silk scarf is whisper light, soft, and comfortable to wear. It comes in two sizes, approximately 53" x 41", and 42" x 31". Lisa is sporting the 53"x 41" scarf. The blues of a spring sky, the whites/tans/bits of leaves and ground of an early spring snow in Maine create a lovely contrast. The design is strong on both sides, though there is a definite 'right' side to the scarf.

Origin Story of the March/Early Spring Scarf

I made this quilt for our daughter. The color distribution in the blocks was somewhat random as I put together the blocks for the quilt, and resulted in a really interesting distribution of color and print. I didn't have a color plan; I just had two bins of fabric strips, a blue bin and a light bin. I love how the quilt came out. As a scarf, I find that it coordinates with a wide variety of my wardrobe, from dressing up a pair of jeans to fancying up whatever I'm wearing out for an evening event.

On the actual quilt, the outermost border is a constellation print, and the stars glow in the dark. The back of the quilt is a gigantic map of Kennebunk, Maine, which is where we have lived for our daughter's whole life, with the location of our house smack dab in the middle of the quilt. My thinking was that wherever she finally lands, she can always sleep close to home.
